A word from Amir Khalighi

I started rendering poems from Rumi and Hafiz initially as a way to express and deepen my own inner emotional landscape and simply as a way to deal with matters of my own heart. Within a year I had cultivated a body of work that seemed to resonate with many others.  Soon I found that this poetry was needed to be heard as much as it was needed for me to express it.  Within a year we had close to 20,0000 listens, 1400 plus subscribers, and listeners from all over the globe, from Los Angeles to Afghanistan.  As a result, our Beloved Poetry Soundcloud page was simply not a big enough space to hold all that I soon held and started to see for this project.  I want to share this body of work with as many as possible and ultimately invite other poets of the heart, spiritual seekers, and teachers to share their gifts here as well.  We will eventually grow to have guest renderers and blog posts from spiritual guides on this path of the heart.  I was inspired to bring all this together and thus created BelovedPoetry.com.  My mission is to ultimately create a sacred space online for all these elements to come together, and replenish each giver and receiver as we dive deeper into poems such masters as Rumi, Hafiz, Neruda, and others.

I welcome you to this sacred space and invite you to know yourself and in doing so know all the secrets that you’ve ever wanted to know.  I leave you with this.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don’t go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don’t go back to sleep. ~ Rumi
